Peter Nielsen Joins the Board of Unmanned Defense Systems

Former Commander of NATO Force Integration Unit Lithuania joins UDS at a key stage of the company’s growth.

‍

VILNIUS, Lithuania — Lithuanian defense technology company Unmanned Defense Systems (UDS) has appointed Peter Nielsen to its Board.

‍

Nielsen brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across NATO, the Danish Armed Forces and international organizations. He previously served as Commander of NATO Force Integration Unit Lithuania, leading a multinational organization and acting as NATO’s principal liaison with Lithuanian authorities.

‍

“UDS has proven that we can develop, deliver and scale sophisticated defense capability,” said Vytenis J. Buzas, Co-Founder and CEO of UDS. “As we expand into more markets and build new partnerships, the decisions we make now will shape the company for years to come. Peter brings decades of experience across NATO, the military and government, and that perspective will be a strong addition to our Board.”

‍

“I first came to know the UDS team during my NATO service in Lithuania and have followed the company’s development since,” said Peter Nielsen. “I have been impressed by the founders’ technical expertise, personal commitment and determination to deliver capabilities that meet real operational needs. UDS combines open architecture and NATO standards with integrated command and control, scalable distributed production and, most importantly, operational experience from Ukraine. My decision to join the Board is ultimately based on deep trust in the people and confidence in a capability that our armed forces need, perhaps more urgently than many yet recognize.”

‍

Nielsen currently serves as an Independent Board Member of LTG Group (Lithuanian Railways), where he is a member of both the Audit & Risk Committee and the Strategic Projects & Investment Committee. His areas of focus include resilience, security, risk management, military mobility and strategic transformation.

‍

Throughout his career, Nielsen has led organizations ranging from specialist teams to large operational units and worked across governmental, military, diplomatic and commercial environments.
